Indications and Contraindications

Indications:

SureSkin Silver Hydrocolloid Dressings:

  • are indicated for use in the management of chronic and acute wounds with light to moderate wound exudate such as:
Pressure ulcers
Leg ulcers
Diabetic ulcers
Second degree burns
Donor sites
Post-op wounds
Skin abrasions
  • can be used on colonized wounds to support healing and reduce odor
  • can be used where the risk of infection is suspected or exists and can be used on patients with wound infection under the supervision of a health care professional.*
  • are suitable for use under compression bandaging on low to moderate exuding venous leg ulcers
* All wounds should be inspected regularly. Remove SureSkin Silver dressings when clinically indicated (i.e. leakage, excessive bleeding, increased pain) or after a maximum of seven days. If signs of chronic wound infection such as delayed healing, unusual pain or odor or friable granulation tissue continue more than 30 days, reassess and address causes of tissue breakdown including non-wound sources of infection and modify treatment plan accordingly.

Contraindications:

  • Known sensitivity to the dressing or any of its components
  • Third degree burns
