Description

SureSkin Silver dressings are sterile dressings that are designed to manage, protect against, and minimize the risk of infection in patients with chronic and acute wounds who are particularly at “high risk” for possible infection.

SureSkin Silver dressing is a waterproof dressing with a semi permeable polyurethane outer film backing and comes with a “Z” fold release system to simplify application even with gloves.

SureSkin Silver dressings contain sodium hydrogen zirconium phosphate (zeolite) that provides antibacterial action in the presence of wound exudate, this compound releases silver ions into the hydrocolloid gel where these ions have shown an antimicrobial action against common bacterial strains often associated with wound infections.

This action has been confirmed by in vitro testing on fresh clinical isolates of Staph Aureus (MRSA), P. Aeruginosa, and E. Coli over a seven day wear tome period.*

Silver ions attack the cell wall of bacteria, interfere with cellular functions and impede replication. The dead bacteria are absorbed into the wound dressing gel and are removed when the dressing is changed. SureSkin Silver dressings may change color (brown) over time, this change does not impact product performance.

The amount of silver per dressing is as follows:

Silver content

43 micrograms/sq cm of dressing

0.55mg/gr. of dressing

Example: 10x10cm (4×4") contains 4.3 mg

15x15cm (6×6") contains 9.67mg

* These test results have been produced by in vitro test methods and there is no clinical data to support the antibacterial claim.
