Directions for Application and Removal

Directions for Use: Application

To optimize performance, select a dressing size that extends at least 2.5cm (1inch) beyond the wound margins

  1. Cleanse and dry skin around the wound site as indicated by standard protocol.
  2. Remove dressing from packaging.
  3. With one hand, grasp white release paper at end and peel back part way.
  4. With other hand, grasp the clear film at end with arrows.
  5. Center the adhesive side of the dressing over the wound and press in place.
  6. Remove the paper release liner completely and secure adhesive to the skin.
  7. Remove the clear film release liner from the other side of the dressing and secure the adhesive to the skin.
  8. Place your hand over the dressing and mold it in place for at least one minute. The warmth from your hand will help to enhance the adhesion of the dressing.

In case of leakage, the dressing should be changed immediately. Dressing can be left in place for up to seven days. Clinical reassessment of the wound on a regular basis is recommended. Continuous use should not be undertaken without medical reassessment. The use of SureSkin Silver dressings with MR (Magnetic Resonance) has not been tested.

Directions for Use: Removal

  1. With one hand, lift edge of dressing gently from the skin.
  2. Use the other hand to press down on skin to facilitate removal.
  3. Work your way around the dressing using this technique.
  4. Gently Roll dressing off skin.
  5. Irrigate and cleanse the wound, prior to reassessment. It is not necessary to remove all residue, if any is present, since the residue is not harmful to the healing process.
  6. Dispose of the used dressing as per local regulation.
