RAVI RAMJIT, PH.D – VICE PRESIDENT OF R&D

Dr. Ravi Ramjit serves as the Vice President of R&D at Euromed Incorporated. He joined our team in 2007 as the Head of Research and Development. Prior to taking this position, he was a Product Development Engineer. Within a short period, Ramjit was promoted to Manager of R&D where he focused on bringing innovation to, and expediting product development. His knowledge of product development for medical devices via Design Control, regulatory requirements (FDA, CE), risk assessment, has allowed him to spearhead projects ranging from Silver Hydrocolloid OTC Bandages to Foam Plus (patent pending) wound dressings as well as product development concepts relating to Negative Pressure Wound Therapy (NPWT) and Botanical Wound Healing. Ramjit aims to develop a solid research and development foundation within Euromed, whereby innovative product development will lead to next generation wound healing technologies. He leads a team of six engineers from various disciplines including mechanical, biochemical, and electrical engineering.

Ramjit holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Polytechnic University, Engineering Institute of New York University where he also earned an MS in Biomedical Engineering and BS in Chemistry/Biomedical Science. His dissertation involved working with “nanomotors” responsible for transcribing DNA and eventually producing every protein found in the body. During his post-doctoral training, he worked in the distinguished laboratory of Dr. Stephen Arnold in the Microparticle Photophysics Laboratory for BioPhotonics (MP3L). There he was part of an interdisciplinary team whose goal was to detect potent viruses using a custom-built, state-of-the-art optics based biosensor. Ramjit has authored publications in various scientific journals including Nano Letters and Faraday Discussions.
