What is the average wear time for SureSkin products?
- Wear time depends to a great extent on anatomical location, condition of the surrounding skin,and the amount of exudate interacting with the dressing
- SureSkin I.V./Central catheter dressings are intended for use on sites with minimal exudate
- The average wear time range for SureSkin I.V./Central Catheter dressings is 3 to 7 days
Sometimes the dressing does not adhere well, what can be done to improve adhesion?
- There are multiple factors that can impact adhesion. One key factor is the type of skin that a person has.People with oily skin or who have excessive perspiration may have problems with adherence. People who have very dry skin or who have exfoliative skin conditions may also encounter adherence problems
- Prior to dressing application,the the skin around the insertion site should be dry. and clean. No ointments or creams should be used under the dressing.
- For Patients with oily skin, it may be helpful to dry the surrounding skin with an alcohol wipe before dressing application.
- It would also be advisable to check to see if there were any dietary or drug changes, since these types of changes can also impact adhesion.
How do I determine what size dressing to use?
- Selecting the appropriate size dressing is critical for optimal performance. In order to determine the appropriate size dressing, allow at least an additional 1 to 1 1/4 inch ( 3cm) border of intact skin around the insertion site.This will help to provide an adequate skin surface for dressing adherence.
Can a patient bathe or shower with the dressing on?
- SureSkin I.V./Central Catheter dressings are covered with a polyurethane film this film layer together with the Hydrocolloid adhesive layer provide a barrier to water and outside contaminents, so patients can shower or bathe with this dressing in place.
How are SureSkin I.V./Central Catheter dressings different from other dressings?
- Unlike other I.V./Central catheter dressings, SureSkin dressings have a proprietary polyurethane film coated with a hydrocolloid adhesive and a unique, triple embossed Hydrocolloid adhesive layer along the outside edge of the dressing which enables the dressing to provide a secure seal to the skin and create a snug fit around the tubing which helps to secure the tubing in place.
- These dressing are extremely flexible and mold well to difficult skin contours and their simple one step application provides a definite advantage over the multiple step application system of competitive products.

- These sterile dressings are manufactured in Euromed’s FDA and ISO 13485:2003 registered facility
